Founded
on the belief that all students have a right to quality education
within an environment of respect and compassion, the Alma school
system provides a disciplined environment that encourages the development
of vision, determination, perseverance and accomplishment. With
an enrollment of 330 in grades K-12, Alma schools have an average
of 11 students for each teacher, far below the national average
and even below the Nebraska state average of 14 students per teacher.
Academically, Alma schools are far above the norm in all areas,
scoring on average in the 93rd percentile in reading (state average
86%), 96th percentile in writing (state average 85%) and 96th percentile
in math
(state average 82%).
Alma Public Schools have also enjoyed a graduation rate of 96.25%
over the past five years, dramatically higher than the national
average. Not coincidentally, the daily attendance rate is 96.45%.
