What's going on in Alma? Plenty! Don't imagine that just because
Alma is a smaller town that there's nothing to do. In addition to
first run movies at the downtown theater (a popular gathering place
for locals), league sports such as American Legion
baseball and frequent tournaments at the golf course provide outlets
for the athletically minded, while concerts and other special events
are often scheduled in Alma or in other nearby towns to help you
stay up with art and culture.

July 4th Celebration
Date: 7/4/2012
Location: Downtown Alma - City Park
Details: Parade at 10:30 am. Performance by Quantum Gymnastics in City Auditorium following the parade. Art in the Park from 10am-3pm. Performers from Harlan County Dam Playhouse at 12:30pm doing face painting, balloon animals, medicine show. Lunch in the Park: burgers, polish dogs, taco in a bowl, BBQ pork sandwiches, homemade ice cream, snow cones. Fireworks at 10pm.
