What's going on in Alma
What's going on in Alma? Plenty! Don't imagine that just because
Alma is a smaller town that there's nothing to do. In addition to
first run movies at the downtown theater (a popular gathering place
for locals), league sports such as American Legion
baseball and frequent tournaments at the golf course provide outlets
for the athletically minded, while concerts and other special events
are often scheduled in Alma or in other nearby towns to help you
stay up with art and culture.

Events Happenings in Alma
Farmers Market
Date: 7/24/2010
Location: Mainstreet, Alma
Details: Starts June 5th through the summer on Saturdays from 9am-noon. Sellers welcome (with guidelines). Purchase fresh produce, eggs, homemade pies, bread, jellies, quilts, and lots more. Contact Sarahjayne Hanes at 785-797-4635 for more information.
Used Oil Collection Program
Date: 8/7/2010
to 10/16/2010
Location: Agri Coop - 805 N Hwy 183
Details: Beginning in April, on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month through October you can dispose of your spent oil from engines, refrigerant oil, hydraulic fluids, transmission fluids, etc. Take the uncontaminated oil (free of water, antifreeze, etc.) to the location above. Unacceptable items are: spent antifreeze, brake fluid, solvents of any kind and used oil with water.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Details: Collection dates are the 1st and 3rd Saturdays during September. Bring products in their original containers. For a list of acceptable vs. unacceptable items, call the Alma City Office at 928-2242.
